Missouri is known as “The Cave State” with approximately 7300 caves statewide. Historically, Missourians have used caves as dance halls, speakeasies, and hideouts. Caves are great excursion because they stay a steady temperature, even when it’s hotter than blue blazes, the day has been rained out, or it’s just too dadgum cold out!

Talking Rocks Cavern

At a steady 62-degrees, Talking Rocks is perfect for the adventurist! This one-hour walking guided tour will highlight beautiful rock formations, the cave`s incredible history, and education other geological information. Talking Rocks is a different pace to most of Branson`s attractions, but this trip underground is not to be missed!

Silver Dollar City started with Marvel Cave tours and it continues to be a favorite excursion for SDC`s visitors. The Marvel Cave tour is educational in nature and involves a long set of stairs to the cave floor. Learn about the caves historic discovery by the Osage Indians, how it was explored (Imagine some rope and ladders. Did we mention the cave floor is 200 feet down?!), and hear some incredible stories about the cave`s modern-day history! This is a popular attraction at SDC so be sure to arrive early for the cave`s scheduled tours.

Lost Canyon Cave at Top of the Rock

Drive-thru the Lost Canyon Cave at Big Cedar in a golf cart and explore another Johnny Morris`s creative brainchild! This paved tour is thoughtfully placed with meticulous attention to detail with breathtaking views of Table Rock Lake and stunning waterfalls. This excursion can be grouped with a ticket to the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum.
